WELCOME TO THE GARDEN

Read a falling kana and type its sound: あ → a, し → shi. Correct answers submit automatically. Press Enter for an ambiguous answer such as n.

Each session begins with a short countdown; choose Skip countdown when you are ready. The answer label tells you whether to type romaji or a matching kana. You can answer any visible drop; the highlighted drop is the priority.

Choose your difficulty before you begin: Easy starts with 5 hearts and gentler rain, Normal with 3 hearts and steady rain, and Hard with 1 heart and faster rain. Drops speed up as session time passes. Every drop that reaches the ground costs one heart; losing all your hearts ends the session.

New kana briefly show their sound. Open My Kana Garden and tap a lesson tile to listen. A new row opens when each available kana has two unaided successes and at least 85% accuracy. Wrong answers show the correct reading, stain the drop, and make it fall faster. Missed or mistaken kana return for practice.

Romaji hints disappear as you learn. Strong kana ask for the opposite script: か → カ. Use the touch keyboard or your Japanese keyboard. Script pairs always ask you to produce the matching kana. Words reveal their English meaning after an answer.

An ! badge warns that a drop is close to the ground. The heart counter shows how many misses you can afford. After a session, tap a review card to hear its kana, or choose Review these kana to practice your mistakes. My Kana Garden shows the exact readiness for your next row.
